The goal of the maintenance department is to provide the
highest standard of workmanship and customer service for the entire Saint
Joseph’s College community. The maintenance department is responsible
for all buildings on campus. Our team of skilled, dedicated, and helpful
trades people strives to provide timely and quality service to our customers.
Maintenance office hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Customer services provided:
• Electrical repairs and lighting – repair
and replacement of existing wiring, outlets, switches, fuses and lighting,
as well as street, walkway, and parking lot lighting; installation of
additional services, outlets and lighting
• Fire and safety – inspection, testing and
maintenance of fire alarms, extinguishers, smoke detectors, emergency
generators and exit/evacuation lights
• Plumbing – installation and repairs of
faucets, sinks, showers, toilets and drains
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning –
installation, maintenance and repairs to building heating, ventilation
and cooling equipment
• Carpentry – furniture repair, tile installation,
bookshelves, minor construction projects
• Painting – maintenance painting/patching
of classrooms, corridors, stairwells, dormitory rooms, and other interior/exterior
areas
• Locksmithing – installation, repair and
routine maintenance of locks, doors and associated door hardware; key
cutting
• Window and screen repair – installation
and repair of windows and screens, including window shades and blinds
and any and all corresponding hardware
• Sign making – creation of engraved door
and desk name plates, as well as room numbers; installation of interior
signage
• Snow removal – supporting the Grounds Department
with snow and ice removal during inclement weather
• Furniture set-ups, maintenance – tables,
chairs and podiums available for set-up for special events; routine maintenance
of furniture
• Lofting of dormitory beds - done per student
request
• Elevator service – administration of service
contract, which includes inspections, preventative maintenance, repair
and service
• Moving services – assistance in moving
furniture and equipment, file cabinets and bookshelves, and dormitory
room preparation
