Saint Joseph's College of Maine

Major Programs

At the heart of academics at Saint Joseph's is discovery, drawn from collaboration between students and professors in classes intimate enough to honor each person's contribution. Professors offer not only their scholarship, they offer a part of themselves. This campus is not about “catch me during office hours;” it's about being engaged in learning – now, together.

The faculty's passion for teaching, and the top priority they give it, makes classes at Saint Joseph's vibrant. As professors challenge you to dig deeper for ideas and solutions, they affirm you in that process. The result: permission to think for yourself and a richer perspective that lasts a lifetime.

Independent study, field work, study abroad, interdisciplinary approaches – you'll find many ways to explore and achieve. And you will always get the support you need to go farther or deeper. Some students pursuing professional degrees begin as early as freshman year to get real-world experience.

The highest-achieving students may be considered for our honors program that combines seminar-style discussions, enhanced academic events and unique field trips to cultural events.
