Bachelor of Arts in History

The major in History provides students with an understanding of the past and an appreciation of the rich variety of human experience. Students majoring in History learn the skills and methods of historical research, analysis, and synthesis. A major in History prepares students for entry into many different occupations. It is particularly suited for careers in teaching, library and archival work, law, and government and foreign service. The Bachelor of Arts major in History includes two semesters of foreign language study. Students majoring in History also are required to complete a 20-credit minor in another academic field.

History Minor
A minor in History requires students to take 20 credit hours, including HY 101, HY 102, HY 208, and two HY electives.
